A Gift from an IRA

IRA owners age 70½ and older can support our ministry by making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an IRA. It’s easy to do.

  • Instruct your IRA custodian to make a distribution directly to Turning Point.
  • There is no tax deduction, but the distribution is excluded from your income for federal tax purposes—no tax is due on gifts up to $111,000 (annual aggregate limit for 2026).
  • Your gift counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) if one is due.
  • Your gift makes an immediate impact on our work sharing the Gospel around the globe.

Consider the life income option
IRA owners age 70½ or older may also choose to make a one-time, tax-free IRA distribution of up to $55,000 (in 2026) to create a new Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) or a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT). The distribution counts toward your RMD if one is due. This is an option worth considering if you want to make a gift from your IRA and establish a new income stream.

Spouses may contribute up to $55,000 each (in 2026) from their individual IRAs to create a single CRT or a joint-life CGA. Income payments may only go to you and/or your spouse.
