FAQ

Is there a difference between Turning Point for God and Turning Point Ministries Foundation?

Yes. Turning Point for God (“Ministry”) and Turning Point Ministries Foundation (“Foundation”) are two separate, but affiliated tax-exempt organizations with different tax ID numbers (which are below). Ministry Partners can give to either organization to accomplish their charitable objectives. Gifts made directly to the Ministry provide immediate support and gifts made to the Foundation provide long-term, future support of the Ministry. Whether Ministry Partners choose to give directly to the Ministry or through the Foundation, the end results are the same—their support ultimately benefits the mission of Turning Point to deliver the unchanging Word of God to an ever-changing world.

I am ready to make a gift in my Will or Trust. Should I let you know of my plans?

Yes, please! Remembering the mission of either the Ministry or the Foundation in one’s legacy plan is very important to us. If you do determine to make such a gift, please let us know, so that we can make a note of the gift as we plan for the future. More importantly, it provides an opportunity to personally thank you for the thoughtful commitment to carry on God’s work and welcome you to the Jeremiah Legacy Society.

Why should I give to Turning Point?

Your generosity—along with that of our other faithful partners—makes possible the programs, projects, and ministry initiatives that are the hallmarks of our mission. You get the personal satisfaction of furthering our work, and you also make a personal statement about your values and beliefs, help create a better world by bringing more people to Christ, and leave a lasting legacy.

What is the best way to give to Turning Point?

There are many ways to give, and the best way for you may differ from the best way for someone else. You can write a check or pay by credit card. You can transfer stock, bonds, retirement plan assets, or real estate—often with tax advantages. You can make a gift that costs you nothing right now, such as a gift in your Will or naming us as the beneficiary of an IRA, life insurance policy, or financial account. You can make a gift that secures a lifetime income stream for you and/or others.

How does a gift in my Will work?

A gift in your Will lets you plan a gift now that will be completed sometime in the future. It costs you nothing today, and you can change your gift during your lifetime if your needs or circumstances change. Simply designate in your Will that at your death, Turning Point will receive a specific amount or property, a percentage of your estate, or even what remains in your estate after all other obligations have been met. You can easily add a gift to an existing Will by using a codicil.

What if I am still having trouble determining the best gift for me?

Every situation is different, and sometimes the best fit is not immediately clear. We are always here to help! We would be happy to send you more information, run calculations that may bring clarity to your decision-making, or schedule a confidential conversation. Please contact us.

Can I designate how my gift will be used?

Yes! An unrestricted gift goes into our general fund to support our overall mission delivering the unchanging Word of God to an ever-changing world. However, you can choose to direct your gift to a certain program, area, or outreach initiative. Simply specify your wishes in a letter of intent, Memorandum of Agreement, or the memo portion of your check.
